Translation Recordings Identity By 1910

Simple, minimal, Swiss-inspired design

Masters of simple, minimal yet smart identity design, Sweden’s 1910, recently unveiled some more work, like this identity design for Translation Recordings.

If ever I’ve seen an identity borrowing the master lessons from Swiss-style design, this is it.

“After 7 years in business, Translation Recordings approached us when they needed an update of their identity and website. When refining the identity, we made sure their ideology of movement, speed, and forward-thinking was kept, as well as giving it a strong corporate colour.”

It’s nothing particularly progressive or world-changing, but it works and I think they’ve interpolated these ideals well.

Yes, that’s Helvetica in the logo. It works, sure, but I can’t help but feel that there was an opportunity for using something a little different.

Possibly another reason I like this identity is the excellent use of grids as well.
